Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is Twelve due for publication?
A: The current plan is for Twelve to come out in the UK as a trade paperback in October 2008 and as a mass market paperback the following spring. Transworld have taken up world rights, so publication in other countries will follow soon after.
Q: And what about the sequel?
A: The sequel, with the working title Thirteen Years Later is due to be delivered to Transworld in October 2008. Publication will hopefully follow a year or so later.
Q: Can I see a preview before then?
A: Yes. Excerpts from both Twelve and Sifr are available on this site.
Q: Is there a schedule for the rest of The Danilov Quintet?
A: Not as yet. I'm not sure I'm up to writing all the remaining novels back to back.
Q: So which character is it that survives until the final book?
A: Wait and see.
Q: Where did the idea for Twelve come from?
A: Hard to say. I'd just hung up a print of the painting of Napoleon at the pont d'Arcole. There's a certain deathly quality to Bonaparte's face that I think set my imagination working.
Q: Are the other books available for publication?
A: Yes. Contact my agent John Jarrold for details.
Q: So what's so great about rats?
A: Look into their eyes - you'll know.
